Q:
rule out 26 是什么意思?
A:
To "rule something out" means to eliminate it or cross it off the list of possibilities. For example:
Which word fits in this sentence:
Jane has ______ read a book in her life.
a) always
b) never
c) whistle
If you don't know the right answer, you can rule out the wrong answers.
"Jane has always read a book in her life" doesn't make any sense, so you can rule out "always".
"Jane has whistle a book in her life doesn't make any sense at all; you can't whistle a book. So you can rule out "whistle".
So the answer must be (b) "never". "Jane has never read a book in her life." That's the only one that makes sense and we have ruled out "always" and "whistle".

Q:
rule 和 regulation 和 policy 和有什么不一样?
A:
Rules are a set of guidelines that one must follow as a way of keeping order. Regulation is a type of rule, but that normally is enforced by a form of authority, while a rule can be established by individuals or groups. A policy is more of a type of principle, rather than a rule, is more of an enforced guideline, usually enforcing or encouraging prudence.
"The rules are clear about walking around campus pass certain hours"
"The local sheriff is very strict about regulating this year's hunting season, people started hunting outside of county boundaries"
"We have a strict policy of financial integrity, a policy you have broken by inflating your numbers, I am afraid we have to let you go, clean your desk by noon".

Hey,
I don't think there is a grammatical rule, or something like that, but I've been wondering why in English you sometimes omit articles before countable nouns[chance, choice, and so on] after the preposition "of".
A game of chance.
The palace of chance.
Architectures of chance.
A game of choice.
The something of choice.
I can't think of better examples right now, but as you can see, even though the nouns are countable and in the singular forms, there are no articles after the preposition "of".
There is one more example I can think of
"Dawn is the time of day when the Sun rises."
Any tips or explanations?
(If you know other singular countable words that take no article after prepositions, feel free to post them.)

Great question! I had to do some research.
Those few nouns in your examples are tricky because they can be countable or uncountable depending on their usage. The omission of articles doesn't always have to occur after "of"; sentences with the omission can be phrased differently.
1) Chance
Countable: You have three chances.
Uncountable: A game of chance. / I won by chance.
(More examples and definitions here: http://www.oxfordlearnersdictionaries.com/definition/english/chance_1)
2) Choice
Countable: You have three choices.
Uncountable: I have no choice. / I don't have much choice.
3) Day
Countable: There are seven days in a week.
Uncountable: Time of day / All day long.
More examples:
• Benefit
Studying everyday is of benefit to us. / It is to our benefit to study everyday.
• Reason
I have reason to believe him.
• Room
There is room for improvement.
• Time
Do you have time to do this?
