In Peru, sometimes, on the last day of classes, teachers organize a "compartir" which is when all the students in the class bring something and share with each other. Would it be right to call that a potluck? Some people have told me it could be considered a party, which also makes me think that the idea of a party that I have is not correct haha. In Peru, a party involves dancing and drinking, which is not what happens in a "compartir" where we usually simply drink soda or juice.
