I learned new word "assuage"
I just wonder that this word has 2 meanings. One is " relieve" and the other is " to kill people in shads".
It seems there are extreme difference. This is true?

I don't know where you got the second definition from, but the first is definitely how the word assuage is used. It means to relieve, or to lessen the intensity of something.

I took a few Tylenol capsules to assuage the pain of my headache.

I gave the baby a bottle to assuage her crying.

I have no idea what the second meaning means, and I've never heard of it before. "Assuage" can mean either "satisfy" or "make a bad feeling less intense."

I put "assuage" into Google translation, then it answered as the second meaning in Japanese. Maybe that was mistranslation of Google.
It looks "assassination" is the second meaning.
