😂 It's a buzz phrase that a youtuber said and became popular, it doesn't have a particular meaning...This is the original video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JbEJjYp4FrQ He says that because the car is in front of his car, so he says since it's here might as well hit it, so by "che fai, te ne privi?" he means "why not do it?" sarcastically and now some people use it with that meaning

@ChewToy it’s kinda difficult to adapt this phrase to english, it has a slight ironic meaning when you say it and the best way i can explain it is “what’s the point of not having/using it” for example, let’s say someone is offering you a plate full of different foods and you say “should we eat all of this food?” so i reply to you with this phrase to ironically tell you that it’s dumb if you don’t eat it. i hope you got it

@ChewToy yep! That’s it! Because we use “privarsi” in italian when you take away something from yourself that could nourish you, make you feel better like cigarettes, chocolate … something you could enjoy! (Pay attention: privare and “Mi sono privato” has nothing to do with “private “ in the meaning of exclusive).
Otherwise we use it for talking about a process. Example: privo un oggetto del suo colore per usare solo la sua forma .In English it should be” I remove the color from an object to only use its form”
So we say “che fai? Te ne privi?” to say “why should you give in ? “

@ChewToy oh ok! In the video he makes a sarcastic question “te ne privi? ~ do you give in?” and he replies to himself “no che non te ne privi!”
We use
No che -
Sì che - (different from sicché!!)
to emphasise what we mean.
Ex: “You didn’t do your homework…. Did you?”
“Sí che li ho fatti !”
“Did you tell Anna my secret?!"
“No, I didn’t! I could never!!”
“Don’t you dare lying to me!”
“no che non gliel’ho detto!!”
That’s why he said “no che non te ne privi”
When we talk sarcastically we often talk to someone who isn’t really there. That’s why he used the second person you, tu.
It’s all about rhetorical phrases:
“E quando piove così che fai? Che voglia hai di lavorare? “ (talking to no one…)
I hope I’ve been clear…

@alessia_scribano it’s like he was talking to himself, like to his inner voice? XD . Kinda “did u do ur homework?” (I’m askin myself) and I answer myself - “of course that I did it” ..... And “si che”-of course ; “no che”-of course not?
- 意大利语
@ChewToy yes like he’s talking to himself. But with the sentence about homework I was think about 2 people indeed …
But you got the point: of course and of course not! That translation could fit 😁👍🏼 is it more clear now ?
