The person I am talking to, along with me are tech enthusiasts. PCs, keyboards, monitors, etc.

Technology is a wiiiiide area - e.g. cranes, cars, plastic extruders, manufacturing robots, ablation lasers, hydraulic pumps, ...
If we are to limit this to PCs, it becomes easier: A lot of the words are simply taken as-is from English, e.g. computer, motherboard, RAM, taskbar.
Here are some basic terms:
die Tastatur, das Keyboard - keyboard
die Maus - mouse
die Festplatte - hard drive
der Prozessor - processor
die Grafikkarte - graphics card
der Lüfter - fan
der Monitor - screen, display
