关于意大利语 的问题

some of you may already know this, but i think that the word ‘che’ is one is english speakers find the hardest to comprehend. you guys seem to use it everywhere, where as in english we probably don’t need it at all 🤷‍♀️

so what are the general other meanings of che when it’s not used in this way:
‘so che sei in uomo’

pronome relativo

‘Il quale’, ‘la quale’, ‘i quali’, ‘le quali’, come soggetto e come complemento oggetto: l'uomo che ama, la donna che ama, gli uomini che amano, le donne che amano, le cose che più amo, ecc.

aggettivo

Come aggettivo interrogativo ed esclamativo è sempre seguito da un sostantivo ed equivale a ‘quale’: che bestia sei!, che uomo è?; solo in frasi esclamative, può precedere un altro aggettivo purché questo sia seguito da un sostantivo: che bella idea!, che splendida giornata!; nell'uso region., spec. settentrionale, frequente anche con il solo agg. (che bello!, che stupido!) e in quello fam. anche con l'agg. preposto.

"stupido che sei! Potevi ben dirgli di no"

If it can be useful, we translate "CHE" as THAT (when possible).
"CHE" is used instead of the subject (il bambino che parla) or the direct object of the sentence (il libro che ho letto).
"CHE" is also used to link a sentence which is "subordinate" to the main one: "Era così felice CHE si mise a cantare" / "Sappiamo CHE non è possibile".
I know that is pretty different from english structure, I think you need just some "mindset adjustment" to use it correctly. As general rule, try to copy and paste others when you hear it: we do the same trying to adjust our mindset to speak english correctly : )

@perla07 in the north mostly? i know that all the italians here use ‘che brutta’ so people still say that? just guessing

@capa1508 si, " che brutta o che bella" si usano ( significa " quella persona è brutta o bella)ma non solo al Nord
