@lukas_broskovic Manners in the United States are tough. For the most part we treat everyone with the same respect homeless or CEO. Sir and ma'm are often only reserved for the military or those who were taught to be very polite to superiors or elders. Just a friendly "Hello, it is nice to meet you" will do the trick.

You would probably say something along the lines of
"Nice to meet you, sir/ma'am"
"Good morning/afternoon/evening"
and refer to the person as sir/ma'am throughout the meeting.
Manners in english are a bit hard to pick up on, but respectful actions and body language are also important.

@lukas_broskovic Hard not to notice when you are asking questions about if ma'm will make you sound too much like a country boy. 😀

@lukas_broskovic Not redneck at all, ma'm will work as well. I noticed another answerer mention this, but some people really don't use these manners anymore. However, they are still good manners and saying "Yeah" or "Hey what's up" to a higher-up would definitely be a bad idea. In fact, many older people think that people who don't use proper manners (sir and ma'am) are simply rude.
